Guan Yin Citta New York celebrated Lantern Festival with local communities

On February 2, 2020, Guan Yin Citta New York holds a large-scale free vegetarian tasting event to celebrate traditional Chinese New Year and Lantern Festival. The event takes place at P.S. 1 elementary school in Chinatown, lower Manhattan. More than 200 local residents attended this gathering and spent a memorable Sunday. In addition to free vegetarian food, guests enjoyed a variety of performances and Buddhist Master Jun Hong Lu’s video clips. This event brings not only joy, it makes people happy with a hope to overcome life’s challenges and fulfill a new beginning of life.
Over the past five years, Guan Yin Citta New York, a non-profit organization, has been steadily growing and committed to spreading core values of Buddhist. It closely collaborates with local communities and makes efforts to promote Master Jun Hong Lu’s Buddhist teachings. Guan Yin Citta New York regularly holds large scale free events to give back to communities and help people restore the balance of their minds. Many local people have benefited from Master Jun Hong Lu’s teachings and overcome life difficulties. More importantly, many of them ultimately found their spiritual sustenance and making vows to help more people alleviate from suffering.
The event includes amazing performances, introduction of Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door, video clips from Master Jun Hong Lu’s Dharma Talks and Totem Inquiry. All the vegetarian food is prepared by volunteers from Guan Yin Citta and served to the public for free. Many of the attendees said, they feel lucky to have joined such an amazing activity to learn so much informative knowledge. They will definitely come to visit the Buddhist practice centers in New York. And they also look forward to the next gathering in the near future.
