The Guan Yin Citta Buddhist Practice Center in Cambodia is located at its capital city of Phnom Penh. The center has provided a spiritual home for the people of Cambodia, and consists of predominantly believers of Buddhism to find out their inner strength and true self with the purification of minds through the systematic Buddhist practices of the Guanyin Citta Dharma Door. As the founder of Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door, Buddhist Master Jun Hong Lu has devoted himself fully in transforming people’s lives and to carry out Guan Yin Bodhisattva’s mission to help people alleviate from suffering. Through his radio programs at 2OR Australia Oriental Radio (2OR) and books, he advocates “to ceasing from evil, to do only good, and to purify the mind”. His inspiring teachings and earnest practice have won him many awards, accolades and respect from Buddhist practitioners around the world.

Although the Guanyin Citta Buddhist Practice Center in Cambodia has not been established for a very long time, with the guidance of the world-renowned Buddhist Master Jun Hong Lu, Guan Yin Citta Buddhist Practice in Cambodia has held a successful Life Liberation and Free Vegetarian Tasting Event in Cambodia’s capital, Phnom Penh.

Before the event, many volunteers have worked diligently to prepare for the upcoming Life Liberation and Vegetarian event. As with the saying, “Many hands make light work”, the spirit of unity and collaboration of many volunteers have resulted in the smooth planning and flowing of the actual event. During the preparation, it can be seen that all the volunteers were very happy and joyful in carrying out their tasks and this has translated into an event which was filled with an atmosphere that was full of love and compassion.

It was a beautiful morning with a clear blue sky, and many people have gathered at the pier before they set out to complete this noble activity of Life Liberation. The Life Liberation, which is one of the “Three Golden Practices” of Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door, is to release animals, especially those that are destined to be slaughtered. There are also immeasurable merits that can be derived from the practice of life liberation as it prevents pain and suffering from being inflicted on the animals as well as promotes generosity and compassion within us. Although it may be difficult for non-believers to fathom, there were countless documented benefits of life liberation to the people who performed the kind act ranging from attaining longevity and health, resolving interpersonal conflicts, being free from violence or disasters to fulfilling the wishes of the people who performed the life liberation. Many fish were released on that day, and it can be seen that the fish were jumping with joy and gratitude as they embraced their newfound freedom.

Another highlight followed the life liberation event for the day was a free vegetarian event. This free vegetarian event was attended by hundreds of people from all walks of life. There were many delicious and mouth watering vegetarian dishes that were prepared by the volunteers.

Before the start of the free vegetarian event, the guests were warmly welcomed by the host. There were other programs throughout the event which included the sharing of the benefits of adopting a full vegetarian diet into our daily lives as well as sharing of testimonials by the practitioners of Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door.

The guests were immersed in an emotional roller coaster when some of the practitioners have shared about the challenges and adversities that they were facing before they found Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door. They talked about how their lives have been transformed through the diligent application of the “Three Golden Practices” of Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door, that is, reciting Buddhist sutras, practicing life liberation and making vows, that. Buddhist books and materials were handed out thoughout the event, and many people have also taken the opportunity to ask questions and to seek a deeper understanding of the Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door practices.

The fine vegetarian cuisines served on that day received great feedback from the guests and made them more aware and conscious that vegetarian food can indeed provide a healthy meatless alternative to meals without the need to inflict pain and suffering to animals.

All in all, the life liberation and free vegetarian event in Cambodia was a success. Hopefully, with the new knowledge and wisdom gained from the event, many more people in Cambodia will make the right decision to start adopting a new lifestyle which is inclusive of the healthy and compassionate vegetarian diet as well as to continue seeking deeper knowledge and understanding about Buddhism to improve their health and well-being.

In the meantime, the attendees watched amazing video clips from Master Jun Hong Lu’s Dharma Talks and Totem Inquiries. These fascinating Totem cases revealed the real existence of Karma and the Law of Cause and Effect, which educated the attendees and made them realize that there is another Buddhist way to live their lives.

Master Jun Hong Lu, the founder of Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door, is a strong advocate of vegetarian diet, not only because it can benefit people’s health and earth, but also it is one of the main methods to cultivate compassion and refrain from killing. Master Jun Hong Lu has ever said, “Compassion will resolve all your troubles. When you are annoying someone, or you’re having something upset, it is mainly because you have not forgiven others. If you let go of the resentment and forgive others, you will open yourselves up to practicing compassion and love. Compassionate people have a level of inner courage to forgive others, which leads to resolving afflictions and trouble. “In order to achieve peace and social harmony in the world, restore the balance of mind, let us start it with the change of our diet, cultivate compassion and perform more giving.

The success of the event relied on over 400 volunteers from different places of Malaysia, including Sarawak Kuching, Sibu;, Kuala Lumpur, Klang, Puchong, Johor Bahru, Muar, Kluang, Yongping, Segamat, Selangor Seremban and Malacca. Guan Yin Citta Netherlands opens its first Buddhist Children’s Class

20181014-Children-Buddhist-Class-Netherlands1

Since the opening of the first Buddhist Practice Center in Amsterdam in June 2018, Guan Yin Citta Netherlands has organized a number of activities, such as Buddhist group study session and free vegetarian tasting events to spread the Buddhist teachings of Master Jun Hong Lu and traditional Chinese culture. On October 14, 2018, Guan Yin Citta Netherlands launched a brand new Buddhist Children’s Class for free. It attracted dozens of kids and their parents, and received positive responses.

The aim of the program is to teach children Buddhist morals and ethics, help them cultivate a gracious attitude, spirit and heart with the mind of tolerance, appreciation, and compassion. By learning the basic concepts of Buddhism, children can develop a right world outlook on life and values, which will benefit them in a long term. The class also leads the children to overcome and correct inappropriate thoughts and bad habits, helping them fit and flourish in society.

The first Children Buddhist Class contained four sections, including introduction of Guan Yin Bodhisattva and other five Bodhisattvas, Buddhist story sharing, Buddhist scriptures Reading, and table manners teaching. At the start of the class, volunteer teachers showed the children how to make prostration and show respect to Buddha. After learning the names of Bodhisattvas worshipped at Guan Yin Citta, every kid kneeled down in front of the figures of Bodhisattvas and made prostrations. After that, the class processed into the Buddhist story sharing section. One of the volunteer teachers told the children a story from Master Jun Hong Lu’s books. It’s about how a jewel business man, who has been sincerely reciting The Great Compassion Mantra every day, was saved by two Bodhisattvas in a dangerous situation. The riveting story made the children realize the importance of reciting Buddhist scriptures on a daily basis and the amazing effects. Once hardships come or bad things happen, people who have been performing diligent reciting practice can receive protections from Buddha and Bodhisattva.

And then in the Buddhist Scripture Reading section, children were taught to read the “Great Compassion Mantra“, “Heart Sutra“, and “The Cundi Dharani” (Zhun Ti Shen Zhou). The children were full of confidence and chanting very well. Their positive attitude and earnest interest towards the learning moved some of the parents to tears. Some of the children were even able to recite the “Zhun Ti Shen Zhou” during the class, which was so amazing and incredible.

Another highlight of the class is the teaching of table manners. In this section, volunteer teachers taught the children the proper dinning etiquette, and Buddhist prayer before a meal to express gratitude to Guan Yin Bodhisattva. The teacher said, “When you have a meal, it is important to avoid some things. First, don’t insert your chopsticks upright in the bowl of rice, because it’s a way to offer to the spirit of a dead person. Second, don’t beat your bowl with spoons, chopsticks, because it can be associated with the behaviors of begging in the old times. Most importantly, do not point at other people with your chopsticks at the table, which is considered to be rude.” Under the guidance of teachers, the children were immersed in the traditional Chinese culture and happily enjoyed their meals in the right way.

After the class, three kids expressed their interest in reading Buddhist scriptures and took some Buddhist books home. Everyone was excited and grateful for having such a good opportunity to learn so much. They are looking forward to the next gathering in the near future.

Over the past ten months, Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door Buddhist Practice Center in Singapore, a charity led by Buddhist Master Jun Hong Lu, has distributed free vegetarian food packages to low income families around Lengkok Bahru district in Redhill. The most recent endeavor was on October 21, 2018, and volunteers were positively buzzing with excitement. Each time, there were nearly 50 volunteers involved and 900 packages of nutritious vegetarian food distributed to 350 households for free.

Working with local communities, Guan Yin Citta Singapore has been giving kindness and support to these needy seniors. The charity program aims to promote vegetarian life style to local residents and help needy households have access to more nutritious vegetarian diets. Master Jun Hong Lu, the founder of Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door, advocates for vegetarianism as it can develop compassion in one’s heart and change a person’s life for the better. As the Guan Yin Citta Buddhist Practice Center in Singapore is so close to the Redhill area, it’s a good opportunity to serve the community and spread Master Lu’s Buddhist teachings in the district.

Residents received complimentary packages of vegetarian food expressed their gratitude to volunteers for their continuous support for the community. Especially for some of the elders, who are eager to adopt a vegetarian lifestyle, but limited by the physical mobility, their need to deliver food to their doors has been fully met. Meanwhile, the regular care from volunteers warms their hearts and gives them hope and spiritual sustenance. With the genuine caring and assistance, some volunteers handed out some Buddhist learning materials and Master Jun Hong Lu’s books to the residents, introducing them the benefits of Buddhist practice. The volunteers also invited them to visit Guan Yin Citta Buddhist Practice Center for more information.

Guan Yin Citta Buddhist Practice Center in Singapore offers daily a free vegetarian buffet with a wide selection of dishes, soups and desserts. Every year before the Dharma Talk by Master Jun Hong Lu in May and the large scale Vegetarian Tasting Event in November, the volunteers normally widely distribute flyers to promote Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door and raise people’s awareness of the importance of Buddhist practice.

The food distribution program is the practice of giving and every volunteer has been honored to be part of such meaningful activity with a good purpose, sowing the seeds of kindness in others and building up trust between each other. Over the last ten months, the volunteers have become acquainted with some of the residents. In turn, they have begun to affectionately term the volunteers as the ‘red shirt people’. Some of the volunteers even brought their children with them to take part in the activities, with the aim of teaching youth a lesson on giving. When interviewed, one of the young participants eagerly said, “I love seeing the smiles on their faces. It is only through events like this that we realize how true cliché can be—giving really is better than receiving!”

The altruistic and selfless acts of volunteers come from their aspiration for benefiting others. During these charity activities, they truly live in the essence of Buddhism and breathe in it with purity of mind and sincerity in action. They put Master Jun Hong Lu’s Buddhist teachings into practice—to be selfless and put the well-being of others above oneself. That is where life’s greatest joy comes from.

Japan’s third Guan Yin Citta Buddhist Practice Center opens in Nagoya

20181027 BlessingCeremony-Nagoya 4

This October 27th, 2018 was the Renunciation day of Guan Yin Bodhisattva, which falls on the 19th day of the 9th lunar month to honor Guan Yin Bodhisattva’s great compassion and great mercy to the world. On such an auspicious day, the Guan Yin Citta Buddhist Practice Center in Nagoya opened with an extraordinary blessing ceremony. The opening of the Buddhist practice center marks the third location of Guan Yin Citta in Japan and demonstrates its rapid development. The very first Buddhist practice center opened in Tokyo in August 2016, and the second in Osaka a year ago in September 2017.

Many Buddhist friends and practitioners from Tokyo, Osaka, and Shizuoka fully supported the establishment of the Buddhist practice center and attended the blessing ceremony at 10am. It was a beautiful Saturday morning when the weather became cleared and the sun came out after the rain. The sun’s rays made their ways through windows and shined on everyone, creating a holy atmosphere of solemnity and inward peace. Everything was ready for the great moment. By sincerely chanting Buddhist scriptures and performing a series of rituals, the enlightened beings were invited to enter into and reside in the sacred statues. The six figures of Guan Yin Bodhisattva, Nanjing Bodhisattva, Tai Sui Bodhisattva, Guan Di Bodhisattva, Zhou Tsang Bodhisattva and Guan Ping Bodhisattva were completely blessed and worshipped by Buddhist friends and practitioners. Everyone attended the blessing ceremony was filled with fullness of joy and peace.

Buddhist Master Jun Hong Lu, the founder of Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door, has ever said, “The Buddhist Practice Center of Guan Yin Citta is a Pure Land rooted in everyone’s heart. If you feel unhappy, miserable, or have difficulties in life, you can come here to recite Buddhist scriptures and calm your mind. You can sincerely praying for the blessings and protections from the Bodhisattva. Where the Bodhisattva resides is where wisdom exists, and bad affinities dissolved.”

Today, the Buddhist friends and practitioners in Nagoya finally have such a spiritual home. The person who is blessed by the Buddha is the happiest, just like a child who has the love of a mother. The brothers and sisters of Guan Yin Citta in Nagoya will unite together and work harder to spread Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door. Such is the best way to repay Buddha’s kindness.
