Through several historical stories Master Lu told Buddhist friends that people should not think too highly of themselves. The value of another person should not be determined by ourselves. Calm and modest, is the most important value of a person. If we want to survive in this world safely, we must always remember that when it’s time to lower our head, we must bow.

Buddhist practitioners should not regard themselves as too important. In fact, it is a type of cultivation, a kind of manners, a noble realm, and an ultimate mindset. The maturity of the mind is the indifference of the mind. Using the Bodhisattva’s mentality; be humble to others, grateful for everything that others have done; love your parents, love all beings, and love all those around you. This way, your mind will be healthy and be more tolerant. If you have a good attitude, you will be content, and you will be happy. By using Bodhisattva’s mentality when dealing with life, can assist yourself to be free. Our society will become more harmonious, and the world will become more peaceful.

Buddhists practitioners must understand in our cultivation, the level of values you hold will determine the stage you reach when you leave this world. Buddhist practitioners should approach things with Buddha’s and Bodhisattva’s mentality; only do good deeds and be kind to others and stay away from all evils; you’ll be able to abandon the troubles of the world. Learn to let go, use wisdom to eliminate troubles, and you heart will be content. Using Buddha’s nature, see the world as always; contentment, kindness, compassion and hopeful.”

The Totem reading was impressive and exciting as ever. In spite of Master Lu’s physical exhaustion within an hour and a half, he saw more than 20 totems for the 10 practitioners, who’s ticket numbers had been drawn. The goal for Master Lu in preforming Totem is to help everyone understand the cause and effect, understand that their own spirituality. The physical pain is the result of cause and conditions, so that they can understand the universal truth of life and began their path to Buddhist cultivation and change their destiny.
