On November 4, 2018, Guan Yin Citta Ireland celebrates its very first milestone year with a free vegetarian event at the Buddhist practice center. It is an opportunity to give back to the community and thank all of those who have contributed to making the Buddhist practice center what it is today. More than 100 guests and Buddhist friends attended the event and had a memorable day.

Led by Buddhist Master Jun Hong Lu, Guan Yin Citta Buddhist Practice Center in Dublin, Ireland is the spiritual home for all those interested in Buddhism to learn and practice Buddhist teachings. It is a place to seek true happiness and freedom from suffering. Since its opening in 2017, Guan Yin Citta Ireland has been intensively involved in spreading Master Jun Hong Lu’s Buddhist teachings to the communities through various activities. Through practice, many Buddhist friends and practitioners find a path towards building a more joyful and compassionate life for themselves and for those whom they cherish.

The celebration started at 11am in the morning and lasted for four hours. Before the celebration began, guests and Buddhist friends prayed at the Guan Yin Hall, worshipping the Guan Yin Bodhisattva and other five Bodhisattvas. After the prayer, everyone gathered in another room and joined in an interesting free gift contest focusing on Buddhist knowledge and concepts from Master Jun Hong Lu’s Buddhist teachings. The participants who answered the questions correctly received beautiful gifts from Finland. Many people participated actively in the contest and competed to answer the questions, such as the names of the five major Buddhist Bodhisattvas in Buddhism and the qualities they represent respectively. Through videos of Master Lu’s Totem reading cases and introductions of volunteers, people became better acquainted with Master Jun Hong Lu’s Buddhist teachings and the Law of Cause and Effect. At the same time, guests and Buddhist friends enjoyed delicious vegetarian buffet meticulously prepared by Guan Yin Citta volunteers. The singing performances were also incredibly good and many people were touched.

The first anniversary celebration would not have been possible without the untiring dedication of volunteers. In the last year, many volunteers came to help people and maintain the practice center almost every day. They did an excellent job of guiding new friends in the recitation of Buddhist scriptures and making sure they followed the right steps in practice. There is nothing the volunteers can’t do when they put their hearts and minds to it. Looking back at the milestone of Guan Yin Citta Ireland and all of the achievements to date, volunteers look ahead to continuing to improve the Buddhist practice center in order to spread Master Jun Hong Lu’s Buddhist teachings and to benefit more people.
