The Compassionate Vegetarian Event in commemoration of the Enlightenment Day of Guanyin Bodhisattva

The annual vegetarian event in honor of Guanyin Bodhisattva’s Enlightenment Day commenced once again at the Guanyin Citta Dharma Door Centre UK. For the devoted Buddhist practitioners, this event holds special significance despite the challenges posed by limited space and unpredictable weather conditions. Nonetheless, the attendees’ fervent participation remained steadfast.
Initial weather forecasts predicted heavy rain for the day, causing some concern among fellow practitioners. After taking precautionary measures, many engaged in prayers for Guanyin Bodhisattva’s blessings upon the event. With a united resolve, the morning witnessed a few rain showers, but between 12 :00pm and 3:30pm in the afternoon, there was only a light drizzle that did not hinder the progress of the activities.
Buddhist friends from various places gathered for this event, demonstrating their sincerity through devoted recitations and prayers. They attentively absorbed teachings on environmental consciousness and vegetarianism, and listened to a fellow practitioner’s sharing. After relishing the exquisite vegetarian dishes, the host and attendees engaged in interactive discussions. They also distributed Buddhist literature, recorded teachings, and scriptures at the connection points.
Observing the enthusiastic faces of those who ardently seek the Buddha’s teachings, a profound sense of emotion welled up. One cannot help but feel deeply moved by the culmination of countless lifetimes’ worth of karmic connections, leading to this very moment of transformation and aspiration. Gratitude is extended to the silent contributions of all volunteer brothers and sisters, to the fulfillment provided by Guanyin Bodhisattva, and to the tireless efforts of Master Lu Junhong in disseminating the Dharma globally. Though Master Lu has passed into Nirvana, we firmly believe that he, along with the Bodhisattvas, continuously watches over and protects each and every disciple. In the days to come, we are committed to upholding the Dharma tradition, tirelessly ensuring that this invaluable wisdom touches every heart, illuminating their inner lights, dispelling all loneliness, and ensuring the perpetuation of the flame of Buddhist teachings.
