A new Guan Yin Citta Buddhist Practice Center opens in Chinatown, the city center of San Francisco

20191006-Blessing-SF4

On October 6, 2019, a new Guan Yin Citta Buddhist Practice Center opened in the city center of San Francisco with a grand blessing ceremony. It is the fourth practice center in the San Francisco metropolitan area and the only one located in the city center. Its opening marked the culmination of eight years of concerted efforts and Dharma propagation in Chinatown. This area has a high population of Buddhist friends who have been practicing Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door since Master Jun Hong Lu’s visit to San Francisco in 2014. Master Lu’s Dharma Talk inspired many of them and changed their lives. The opening ceremony attracts hundreds of Buddhist friends from adjacent areas and eastern coast, including Los Angeles, San Diego, Arizona, Chicago, New York, and Canada.

The blessing ceremony started in the morning and incense offering was provided to the public afterwards. Long lines of people waiting for the incense offering extended out of the center. And the atmosphere is full of joy and happiness. After the incense offering, a free vegetarian lunch event was held at a restaurant in Chinatown to treat all the guests. Delicious meals were served and video clips from Master Jun Hong Lu’s Dharma Talks were played for the attendees. The three story restaurant was fully packed with crowds, which was quite a spectacle. During the event, some Buddhist friends shared their real life experiences of overcoming life difficulties by practicing Guan Yin Citta Door. Some volunteers performed fantastic choral singing and won a big round of applause.

Volunteers in San Francisco bay area will continue work hard together to spread Guan Yin Citta Door to more people. It now opens seven days a week and free to the public. Welcome to the center to start a new journey of life!
